The company

Lalaleads is one of Europe’s leading sales prospecting agencies, helping B2B companies generate qualified leads using a marketing and sales approach. The agency launched in 2017 and has helped the sales teams of BackMarket, Vinted and Coursera since then. 

Lalaleads’ Account Managers deploy multi-channel or digital-only strategies, depending on customers’ targeting and needs. They use 60 criteria to determine the target audience and create the most relevant prospecting base for their customers’ commercial actions. Their aim is to enable companies to concentrate on the closing phase of the sales cycle.

The challenge

We interviewed Antonio Teixeira, Growth & Tool Manager at Lalaleads. He is responsible for creating SDR prospecting lists to optimise sales conversion rates. Antonio also researches and implements prospecting tools in Lalaleads processes.

When did the need for a new tool for creating your lists arise?

“At the end of 2023, we experienced a peak in growth at Lalaleads: a number of customers arrived, and so we needed a tool that could keep up during this busy period.”

“Previously, we’d been using Dropcontact, Kaspr, and lots of other tools. We had to look for a complete tool that integrated a search engine, data enrichment and a LinkedIn extension.” 

“I found myself faced with the question: either we continue with our whole stack of tools, but we lose time, or we implement a single prospecting tool that brings together all our needs.”

How did you find the Cognism prospecting platform?

“While searching the web for prospecting tools and databases, I found Cognism, but also ZoomInfo and Ocean.io.” 

“What convinced me to use Cognism was the cost per lead, which was very good, and the fact that the database includes mobile numbers. As soon as you switch to mobile, the conversion rate increases.”

What other factors made you prefer Cognism over other prospecting tools?

“We were already working with Kaspr, and the fact that both tools belong to the same company convinced me.”

“With competitors, the structure is more complex and you have to choose the region you want to work in. With Cognism, you get everything in one go: a complete tool without being complex. We don’t have time to lose; we’re a start-up!”

“The fact that we have coverage beyond France means we can say yes to customers who want to open up to a new market. When we get requests from customers who want to set up in England, we don’t say no to them. If we get requests for the United States, we go there. We’re not stuck and don’t need to look for other tools.”

The solution

How do you use Cognism?

“At Lalaleads, we use Cognism for our customers. We create databases for them for multi-channel or full digital prospecting campaigns.” 

“In full digital mode, the project manager is responsible for launching email campaigns in collaboration with a salesperson who takes care of the more manual actions, such as replying to emails and making follow-up calls. The emails they contact come from Cognism.”

“In multi-channel mode, we deploy digital technology and assign salespeople to make lukewarm calls (lukewarm, because we send an email first), again with Cognism’s quality data.”

Thanks to Cognism, we can get contact details of those who comment and participate in our customers' LinkedIn events.. Cognism makes it easy to find information. We use it every day, and it’s a key tool at Lalaleads. 70% of our database comes from Cognism.”

“I mainly use it on the operational side. The project managers tell me the criteria they need, such as contact details, headcount, location etc. which they then take directly from the tool. At the same time, they can see how many prospects we can reach and then tell the customers.” 

“Then, I export the data. We create an account on the HubSpot CRM for each customer and import the list directly into the CSV file. We don’t use integration, because we add fields to the files: the campaign name, the source to feed the analytics, for example. We then manage the campaign directly from HubSpot.”

Antonio explains what they plan to do next with Cognism: 

“We’ve been very focused on our customers so far that we haven’t implemented Cognism internally yet. However, we’re currently thinking about implementing it for our own processes, including using intent data.

The results

What results have you seen with Cognism?

“First of all, Cognism has met our expectations; we could stop using all other tools.” 

“It works really well during our busy periods, and we’re no longer stuck thanks to the tool’s power. It allows us to announce a quantified target to our customers, supporting our policy of transparency, and, above all, meeting it.”

“The second impact is time savings. Before, it used to take me 1 hour and 30 minutes to create a database, from research to import. Now, after 6 months of use, it takes about thirty minutes. If Cognism hadn’t reduced the time, we would have had to hire someone to help keep up with the peaks in customer growth. We didn’t need to do that.”

Have you seen any other positive impacts?

“As soon as we have a mobile number, the conversion rate increases by 2%, quite easily.”

“We’ve also been able to reduce manual tasks. Before, we used a search engine, an email data enrichment tool, another for telephone numbers, an email checker and a tool we developed in-house. Today, we only have Cognism and the tool we developed.”
